Thanks!

As I mentioned  our (laura, kristin and  I) trip to Utah for Stampin'Up! Convention, we happened to ask a guy for directions to a good steak....to our surprise he asked that we follow him to where he was going to meet up with friends @ Red Rock a block away so we went on....(he seemed normal ) chit chatting along the way he asked where we were from and talked about our day, work and our visit to Utah. Much to our surprise he had been to Austin Texas (2 hours  from our home) and mentioned texas being friendly. (Yes please. Texas is the BEST state!) 😘

Anyhow upon our arrival he asked the hostess to take care of us and mentioned we were from Texas. And she did ......we had a great waiter and delicious food! Oh and the drinks....the drinks were great! ( jack Mormon and flirtini) oh! And let me mention I could have parked my tail there and kept drinking.

So we ate and drank and giggled about our visit to Utah, what we'd been seeing, doing and just relaxed....mind you we had not had much sleep but who cares, that's what you do on trips! Well, as I happened to bring up the guy who was nice and led us to our lunch place....he walked up and said he'd like to return the Texas hospitality and treat us to lunch on him. Wow! Our bill was well over a hundred bucks and that was so nice and unexpected of a stranger we've  just met a whole hour ago...but nice nonetheless! He then offered to leave us tickets to the Bees game ,which was oh so tempting. But sorry to say we could t make it. We had convention to get back to and well...as you would have it there just wasn't enough time to take in all of Utah with our schedule!

When I got home I just had to make him a card of thanks. It's important to be thankful so here it is: our lunch drinks and card!

Salt Lake City,Utah is beautiful by the way! I highly recommend it!

Cards for the Troops!

So.....I love to help wherever I can, whenever I can and well.....a week or so ago I saw a link on my Facebook and I got to thinking...It was for the troops in Afghanistan...They needed toiletries and such....well a little further digging and I noticed they needed cards! I thought this makes total sense....Imagine the men and women, moms, dads, kids, siblings, aunts, uncles, you name it, that are there and not here like me: safe, going and doing and SAFE!

Yeah, you guessed it.......

I don't have room really to stockpile toiletries and do an actual drive, so I lingered with what I COULD DO! (You can always do something....little things matter!) I am a crafty kinda girl and I have realized that no I don't have time for the gazillion things I want to do all the time as my mind races with ideas, BUT like I said, I am crafty! So, I wanted to make some cards, send a few and make some people happy, but then I realized why not make it super fabulous?

That being said, I have decided to host a card drive instead. I can whip out greeting cards ...NO PROBLEM!  If I can atleast send out 100 of these little greeting card boxes with an array of cards to the troops, that would be GREAT! I plan to host a card weekend in my kitchen for my crafty friends who would like to be a part of this.

YOU can help out by

1.  mailing me cards that are handmade and a regular A2 size with an envelope please.
( i'm picky about size because presentation is important and they have to work with what is in my head!     also NO GLITTER )

MAIL TO: Lora Buehrig
                   112 Palomino Ln.
                   Victoria,Texas 77904

2. Donate on my blog to help make it happen.
(I can use any kind of help because I want this to be BIG. 100 happy solidiers is a 100 happy soldiers. Any donation will be recorded and used for the following and posted here on my blog so you can keep up  : paper, ink, postage stamps, ribbon, pens, tape, glue, glue, tape stamps, packaging ...you name it, I'll use it, but it does add up either way....)

I will collect and create cards for our heroes until last day in September..The holidays are coming and this will be just perfect!

So, join me in this venture! If you aren't a crafter, donate, skip a starbucks and make a soldier happy!

I hope you will be as excited as I am. I am hoping to get 100 packages done but the more the merrier in any instance!

God Bless you and Our Troops!

Stampin up!

Well, I joined the Stampin' Up! company and took off to Dallas,Tx for their 2013 Regional meet.....I will say that it was a total hoot! Several of my girlfriends went also, so that just made for a great time if anything. I had a migraine, body ache really bad and it was super cold (to me) but I had to suck it up and persevere.Where crafty things happen, there is no time for feeling like CROPPY. We ate good food, got little sleep and laughed up a storm!

We drove in earlier today and now I am just tired. It's back to the grind tomorrow so I will have to post pics of our nights and here are some of the cards I made to swap with the ladies there....ToTaL fun!
Enjoy and I'll be back tomorrow! (after all is said and done on the home front) <3 p="">
